The 2016/2017 stats are out from IEE for international students studying in the United States. A total of 1,078,822 students are studying here. This number represents a 3.4 percent increase over the previous academic year, and is the eleventh consecutive year of expansion. The top five sending countries are China, India, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, and Canada. South Korea moved back into third place due to a 14 percent decrease in Saudi students. Of the top five sending countries, India had the largest increase with 12.3 percent growth. The largest percent increase of the top 25 was Nepal with a 20 percent increase. The largest decline was from Brazil with a 32 percent drop.
